Learning Models

Cohorts
An excellent method of study for online courses is one in which the student is part of a face-to-face group studying the same materials with the help of a group facilitator. NHCC encourages such groups, but does not require them. All persons attending group sessions must complete an enrollment form and submit it to the Office of Distance Education along with all appropriate fees before taking the course.

Individual Audit Option
We have noticed in recent years that not every student who wishes to engage in lifelong learning is interested in taking college classes for credit. Many people want to learn, grow, and be better equipped for ministry in a variety of settings without the added cost of for-credit classes. The Personal Enrichment (Audit) option is available to students who do not require academic credit and who want to engage in a solid learning experience without grading or assessments

Site License Option
New Hope Christian College has instituted a brand new site-licensing option for pastors and churches interested in using NHCC Distance Education course materials for personal enrichment and discipleship purposes. This option gives a site-license administrator in a church a 15-week license to access on-demand streaming video lectures for one of the above courses to show to whomever they wish within their existing church structure. The fees are structured according to the size of the cohort membership. Upon receipt of payment a pastor or designated church leader will get a username and password to the course as a site-license administrator that would be valid for 15 weeks from their chosen start date. This pricing option is only for groups wishing to view materials for discipleship and personal enrichment purposes.
